I read through your first AP open question. You really show and tell how much Schindler is affected by his German society and what he does to stop these Gothic Nazis because of his disgust toward them. Although you easily convey how important Schindler’s actions against the Nazi’s were, you did a lot of summary. The summary does help the reader completely understand the context of the book, but I think not all of it is necessary. The example of Helen Hirsch really deepens your analysis of Schindler’s actions by giving the reader an actual example of what Schindler did in order to save some of the Jews and to go against the oppression of the Gothic Nazis. During your presentation as well as your open prompt, I could definitely see this theme of good vs. evil. Within the open prompt, you did a good job in contrasting Schindler and Goeth, the Gothic Nazi. Within your presentation, you discussed how the theme of good vs. evil is shown through the faction of Keneally’s writing. To make your open prompt even more complex, you could have brought in the ideas from your presentation of the faction and how it contrasts Goeth and Schindler, and the idea of how the contrast is what forces Schindler to save all of the Jews that he can.
